Bio - Dr Musara Lubombo
Musara Lubombo (PhD) is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Centre for Communication, Media & Society (CCMS), University of KwaZulu-Natal. He has background in English & Communication, Public Relations, as well as Cultural Studies.
His research interests include culture, health communication and social change. He radically objects to the continued reliance on Western scientific schema to address African development challenges, particularly hegemonic discourses on HIV/AIDS. His current work draws on the practices and thinking about health and the human rights approach to HIV by (South) African AIDS Activists to redefine and reposition people living with HIV both epistemologically and in the practice of social change communication for HIV prevention.
