Eliza Govender completed her Masters degree through the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Health and Development Communication. Govender is the Programme Manager for the Centre for Communication, Media and Society, funded through Johns Hopkins Health and Education in South Africa. She is also a member of the advisory board for the Media, Empowerment and Democracy in East Africa project. She teaches development communication and public health communication strategies. Her research interests include community development, participatory action research and entertainment education. Govender is currently registered for her PhD where she is conducting a comparative analysis of secular and faith based interventions for HIV prevention.
