Yonela Vukapi is a PhD candidate at The Centre for Communication, Media and Society. Her research interests are within the Public Health Communication field, with specific interest on HIV/AIDS, young women and adolescent girls. Her Masters dissertation was a reception analysis of the ZAZI-Know Your Strength Campaign; exploring how the campaign has contributed to the decrease of teenage pregnancy among young women leaners in rural KZN high schools. For her PhD, she will be exploring the roll out of PrEP products among young women and adolescent girls within clinics in KwaZulu-Natal also looking at how adherence and consistent use of these products can be promoted within this population.
