Oswelled Ureke lectures in the Department of Media and Society Studies at the Midlands State University, Zimbabwe. He has also worked in film production and as Chief Reporter for the now defunct Daily Mirror in Zimbabwe. Oswelled’s PhD research is on the Film services industry in Zimbabwe. He has written on political economy of the media and on film. Oswelled’s research interests are in film, journalism and new media. He has also reviewed journals for several journals and has been involved in the Durban International Film Festival as a reviews coordinator for the festival’s media desk. He holds a B.Sc and M.Sc in Media and Society Studies and a Post Graduate Diploma in Tertiary Education from the Midlands State University. Oswelled enjoys practicing Karate and watching films
